Whenever I log on to Facebook why is it I'm always greeted by people venting or having minor breakdowns in the public eye. If you are one of these people then I don't know how to break it to you gently that I actually really don't care that your boyfriend dumped you or your goldfish died or you're having a self identity crisis. no I don't want to hear your life story or the woes and sorrows you think you're facing, if I wanted to know I would ask rather than having to sit at my laptop wading through so much self pity even my mousepad gets depressed.
I mean, you do realise fb is not your therapist right? If you really have angst then please just get a blog/text a friend/just keep it to yourself. Don't go around spreading your drama out for the whole world to see, it's like, have a bit of dignity and self-respect, try and keep something back. You want to vent? Then do what I do and put it here where people can choose to come and read it if they really want, don't inflict it on people that don't want it.
Not that I'm trying to be insensitive, i get that everyone has issues from time to time and everyone deserves a shoulder to cry on, I know I definitely do. But to put it out there constantly it's just like you're being a bit desperate begging for my attention. And don't get me wrong, I really do make time for friends who are going through stuff who want to talk, it's not a dig at them,, rather it's a dig at the people who just spam my newsfeed with a minute by minute update of the cesspit of emotions they've got themselves in. So just take it easy ok?

Going to see my boyfriend last week I decided to take along my Lord of the Rings DVDs to complete his Middle Earth education. He'd already been put through nearly 5 hours of The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers, so it only seemed right we ended things right there and them with The Return of the King.
It all seemed to be going well at first. In the beginning he sat there with this patient look on his face that let me know he was finding it a bit boring, but as it went on and got to the siege of Minas Tirith and King Theoden's army riding to the rescue of Gondor (oh come on, don't start with the whole"spoilers" thing. How could you not have already watched this), it was evident he was getting more and more into it, because you know, that was the aim.
However, when his flatmate walked into the room just over halfway through, he clearly forgot I was right there and let slip he'd found the first 2 boring and even with this one he only liked it. Yeah, that's right, "LIKED". Not "loved". Just "liked". If looks could kill the one that I shot him would have had him dying a long drawn out painful death. And to add insult to injury, I only went and left my DVDs at his flat SO NOW I HAVE NO TWO TOWERS DVD TO WATCH AND I'M GOING TO CRY DIE!

Assignment Woes
At long last the end is in sight. My final assignment is due mid May and after that I just have my exams and then I'm free at long last. I would jump for joy but you'll forgive me if I hold off on the festivities for a while. You see, this last assignment isn't like my previous ones which were standard essays. Oh no, it seems lecturers wanted to have the last laugh and set a lab report for the final one, and oh my what a pain it is. No matter how much I read through other reports for inspiration, how much coffee I drink or how long I sit staring at the laptop, nothing appears to be materialising on my screen. It's ironic the one time I really try I appear to have writers block, how maddening. To make it worse, everytime I look on Facebook I see loads of friends posting about how their year is finished, and all I want to do is throw something at them and shout "good for you". Clearly this is my laptops way of telling me to get off the internet and go do some work. Well played laptop, well played

Grade Rage
Today I finally got the results for a group presentation I did a couple of weeks ago for our cognitive/biological module. Good news is, we passed with 66%, which is good right? Bad news? We missed out on a 1st by 4%. 4 measly %. Why on earth could our lecturers not find it within themselves to award us that 4. I wanted a 1st so badly for this and now all my hopes and dreams have been crushed. I should be happy with what I got but I'm seriously gutted
